You picked a pimple… Now what?
I don’t understand how some people can restrain themselves from squeezing pimples. Personally, I’d rather walk around with a scab on my face than a big-old whitehead that’s basically screaming, “POP ME!” And that’s what usually happens. I also have to admit that I tend to pick post-pimple scabs, too (I know, I know) and this poses a problem when I try to hide the evidence with concealer. Sound familiar? Well, I picked up this little trick from one of the myriad beauty emails I receive each day, so I can’t take credit for it but I can certainly share it!
Perhaps you’ve seen those liquid bandage products in the first aid aisle at the drugstore. They’re great for small cuts and boo-boos (like after shaving) when you just don’t want to wear a Band-Aid. (In our house, we usually only have the cartoon variety, and that won’t cut it in some situations—no pun intended.) BTW, it’s also great for preventing and protecting blisters, painful hangnails and cracked cuticles and anywhere else you need extra cushioning or padding to prevent rubbing or chafing. (There are a few to choose from, but I happen to have New-Skin.)
So here’s the trick: Dab a little on a pimple after picking, and it creates a nice little film that your concealer or foundation will actually stick to. Problem solved!
