The newest collection of NARS will certainly catch your attention

The newest collection of NARS will certainly catch your attention

If there’s one thing I love about NARS (aside from their amazing colors and formulas), it’s the sleek minimalist packaging that has become synonymous with the brand. And while I’m not usually one to go on a product’s look alone (it’s what’s on the inside that counts), I can’t stop thinking about NARS’ Spring 2018 collaboration with Erdem, which is appealing to my suddenly more feminine and frilly go-to aesthetic. The new limited-edition 13-piece “Strange Flowers” collection features three original floral prints that are sure to brighten up your makeup bag—but wait until you see what’s inside!

Have you ever seen a cheerier lip palette? With both powder and cream formulas (and a brush) that let you create an endless array of bold lip looks for spring and summer, the Poison Rose Lip Powder Palette is calling my name. Just what we need for a punchy pout every damn day this spring and summer—and creating matte, shimmery or even ombre looks—I may be placing an order today.

I’m also crushing on the “Love Me” Blush because who doesn’t want a pop of color on their cheeks? This appears to be like a pinkier version of “Orgasm,” and the gold flecks are sure to catch the light beautifully.

All of the other products in the collection definitely fall on the “wearable” side of the spectrum (think a neutral shadow palette and perfect-for-warmer-weather lipstick shades, two products piqued my curiosity, mainly because they’re a bit out of the box and I’d love to see them in action. First, the “Night Garden” Eyeshadow Palette and it’s deep green, bright yellow and dark navy have me wondering how they’d look IRL. I don’t usually go crazy with eye color (a peacock-hued eyeliner is about as far as I stray from neutrals) but these shades caught my attention.

Since we usually associate spring and summer with lighter, brighter shades, I was also surprised to see the “Wild Flower” lipstick in this collection. This deep plum purple definitely makes a statement, and again, I’d love to see it on a set of lips (though not necessarily mine). It’s hard to tell if it’s sheer or opaque—but either way this one intrigues me.

If you’ve had a chance to check out the new collection, let me know what you think! Are you feeling the bright, cheery shades or giving the more adventurous offerings a second glance?
