We're in the midst of a pimple paradigm shift

Let’s get real for a second… Sometimes it’s just impossible to cover up a pimple, and sometimes our attempts at concealing actually draw even more attention to it. We’ve all been there, whether a long, long time ago in our teens, or in my case, as I’m writing this. At the same time, it’s like we woke up one morning and stopped trying to achieve a single, unattainable beauty ideal and started embracing what were once perceived as flaws—which brings me to today’s featured product: Starface’s Hydro-Stars.

I’ve been using “spot stickers” since they made their way here from Korea several years ago. Packed with blemish-blasting ingredients that really help clear up zits fast, they’ve always been clear (and virtually undetectable unless someone got real up-close and personal). As you can see, Hydro-Stars take the complete opposite approach. And why shouldn’t we stop pretending we don’t have a pimple, and accept the fact that zits happen and there’s nothing to be ashamed of?

As a grown-up, I fully understand that these star-shaped stickers may not be appropriate for the office, or even going out to dinner, but perhaps that will change, too. At the very least, I’d totally use these at home—even though I’m fairly confident my husband and son would make fun of me. But then again, maybe they wouldn’t, and maybe my son would actually wear one out of the house when puberty-induced pimples begin to pop up. We shall see…
