Could this oil be key to preventing an itchy scalp after coloring?

Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe I’ve stuck with the platinum for so long, and sometimes I can’t ever imagine going back to a “regular” blonde. But one thing I know for sure is that the itching associated with bleaching my hair to the point of no return is no fun. It starts while I’m sitting in the salon waiting for my roots to “lift,” and continues for the next day or two. Seriously, I often wonder if people think I have lice as I sit and scratch my scalp without abandon.

My dermatologist client recommends a prescription-based solution that prevents itching when applied before a color appointment, but let’s just say I haven’t gotten to that. But I think I may have found a more accessible solution (because I need to medicate before I go to the pharmacy in order to deal) in the form of Adore Botanicals’ Flourishing Scalp Nectar.

This blend of botanicals plus argan, jojoba, rice bran and rosehip seed oils is designed to ease the symptoms of dandruff and eczema, but I’m thinking it may be just what the doctor ordered to quell the bleach-induced itching. Sure it may make my hair a greasy mess, but I’d rather deal with that than the incessant scratching. Stay tuned, because I have an appointment for a root touch-up next week!
