Repeat after me: Primer is your friend. These pre-foundation products can do just about anything complexion-wise, from reducing redness and smoothing wrinkles to absorbing excess oil and boosting radiance. I have about 5 in the rotation since I have a hard time sticking with just one, and my latest acquisition for Spring/Summer 2015 is Becca Cosmetics’ Shimmering Skin Perfector in “Rose Gold.”
Super-lightweight yet packed with light-reflecting pearls that deliver a lit-from-within glow, this pink-hued liquid can be used in a few ways. You can apply it before foundation for a beautiful base, you can use it as a highlighter for a finishing touch over foundation, or you can add a pump or two to your foundation or tinted moisturizer to amp up the sheen factor. Just this morning I combined the Skin Perfector with about 10 drops of Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint, and the result was a subtle shimmer with just enough coverage to even everything out a bit.
