In our neck of the woods, Neiman Marcus at Town Center is our go-to destination for the latest must-have makeup, and their brand-new Tom Ford in-store shop has finally given us access to the entire range of uber-luxurious beauty and fragrance that we’ve had to travel to New York to get up until now. When we got the invitation to get a sneak peek at the new fall collection, we were so excited that you’d think we were five-year-old girls getting a tour of the Barbie Dream House… And it was pretty close!
More than a mere makeup application appointment, we started with one-on-one time with Tom Ford Beauty’s executive director of global communications, Katherine Holmes. She told us all about the line’s background and inspiration (peppered with some amazing Tom Ford anecdotes), and although we could have spent all day with Katherine, we were jonesing to get the fab new fall colors on our face (and, alas, she had a schedule to stick to).
The beauty of Tom Ford’s makeup is the tight edit, so it didn’t take long to “meet” the latest offerings for fall. Of course limited-edition eye palettes are front and center and we absolutely love both the perfect-for-day neutral “In the Pink” and smoky gray “She Wolf” (shown above, which we were lucky enough to take home). Each palette features three shadows with different finishes and textures so you can mix and match to your heart’s content. Top either with the long wearing (and goof-proof) double-sided Eye Defining Pen and you’re good to go. And don’t miss the new Eye Primer Duo, because a layer of the cream topped with a light dusting of the translucent powder before you apply color is a fabulously indulgent way to help your shadow last and last.
For lips, the “Bruised Plum” lip color (which was introduced as part of the original collection in 2010) is officially our go-to lipstick for fall, and you’ll be seeing us in this deep shade day, night and all points in between. (We might actually wear it to bed, it’s that good.) And since we’re nail obsessed as well, we’re using the brand-new iridescent “Black Sugar” (pictured below) for our manicure this afternoon. We also got our hands on the new shimmery “Show Me Pink,” so that will be gracing our fingertips in no time flat.
Can you tell how much we’re in love with this makeup? Not only has it inspired us to step up our game, it got us into full-on fall mode (boots and all)!
