Back to school for the kids means back to business for me, and as far as my beauty routine is concerned, I’m all about trying to undo the hair damage that accumulated over the summer. This meant radical color change (bye-bye bleached out platinum), a major chop and lots and lots of moisture. Although I have more deep conditioners and leave-in treatments than I can count, I’ve been eyeing Phyto’s new Phytoelixir range since it’s designed to nurse ultra-dry hair back to health after too much sun, surf and swimming.
After giving it a second chance, I’m a total cleansing conditioner convert. The Phytoelixir Cleansing Care Cream does the jobs of your shampoo and conditioner—so it also saves you time as it saves your summer-ravaged strands. Yes, the lack of suds takes a little getting used to, but you’ll quickly see it’s a small sacrifice to make in exchange for restored softness and shine.
And since there’s no such thing as too much hydration (at least in my hair’s case), I definitely need to try the Phytoelixir Oil. I’ve been letting my hair air-dry for the past few months, and all I need is a good oil-based product to slick it back and I’m good to go. This one contains a blend of super-nourishing camellia, corn germ and karanja oils plus a shot of protein-rich egg yolk to help get your hair back in good shape—and I hear the scent is divine.
I’m thinking that these products launched just in time for my post-blonde hair boot camp—and I’m sure your ‘do could use a little damage control, too!
