For my 13th birthday my mom took me for highlights, and there’s been no going back since. See, I was born blonde, but my locks became darker as I approached puberty, and while I don’t think I really cared at the time, apparently my mom was missing her “golden” child. And wouldn’t you know, save for two temporary dark periods in my life (during which one of my oldest friends didn’t recognize me from across the street), I’ve stayed blonde and basically loved every minute of it.
When I got my first gander at spring’s rose gold hair color trend, I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. I finally texted a photo to my colorist asking her how difficult it would be to achieve on my already-overstressed strands, and she said it would be a piece a cake. (I also asked how hard it would be to go back to blonde and she said that would be a cinch, too.)
So here I am, due for highlights, and seriously considering changing things up a bit—at least for the spring (and possibly summer). What do you think? Should I do it?
