While some of us may not have very high expectations for our lip balms—I do. I’d rather pass (and deal with dryness) than stoop to using a waxy product like Chapstick, and I’m not a fan of creamy formulas that soak right in without leaving a protective layer behind. In my book, lip balms also get extra points for offering more than hydration—and Softlips’ new Cube Lip Protectant is my go-to at the moment.
As cute as it is effective, I can’t get enough of the glass-like prism and the dome-shaped balm inside. Simply twist off the cap and give your lips a swipe—no twisting or anything. The formula itself is fantastic as well, serving up long-lasting moisture thanks to shea butter, a blend of vitamins and antioxidants, SPF 15 and a subtle shiny finish that helps anyone look a bit more polished in a pinch. I received the Vanilla Bean version to test, and it makes for a sweet treat plus the ever-so-slightest minty tingle makes me feel like it’s working.
With quite a bit of cold weather ahead of us before spring makes its presence known, I definitely recommend adding this fabulous balm into the rotation–and at roughly $3 a pop, you can stash one in every one of your bags!
