I definitely don’t wash my makeup brushes as often as I should. But when I do, I try to make sure I do it when I won’t be needing them the next morning so they have a chance to fully dry. I’ve come to find that a cleansing tool makes the process a bit less tedious, and the first offering from a new company called Practk has me eager to cross this task off my list. (BTW, the founders of Practk are the masterminds behind the professional favorite, Sigma Beauty.)
It’s called the Palmat, and it’s taken the concept of the brush-cleansing mat to a new level because you can use it in a few ways. You can slip it onto your hand (the adjustable strap makes sure it stays put) or you can put in your sink for hand-free washing (there are suction cups to secure it in place). There’s a side for larger brushes and a side for smaller brushes, and each features two sizes of textured “nubbies” for thorough cleansing. (You use the larger “dots” as step one, and the smaller ones as step two to ensure you remove every last bit of makeup.)
Once finished, simply rinse the Palmat and stow it away until the next time you’re ready to wash your brushes—which should be once a week, FYI. I can’t imagine cleansing my brushes without a tool like this… What about you?
