This under-the-radar line is all about over-the-top luxury for your skin

I’m kind of obsessed with Violet Grey. Between the impeccably edited selection of products (everything is “vetted” by a top industry expert), the awesome (shoppable) editorial content and celebrity beauty spreads, it’s like crack for me. Being as beauty-obsessed as I am, I’m familiar with the brands the site (and the boudoir-like Los Angeles store/hideaway on Melrose Place, shown below) stock, I was caught off guard when I came across May Lindstrom.

The Good Stuff was the first product I zeroed in on, because who wouldn’t want a body elixir with gold flecks for subtle shimmer? Although I have yet to meet this decadent treat in person, the scent is described as a blend of cocoa, rose, lavender and ylang-ylang, and I can’t even imagine what this smells like—but I’m willing to bet it’s good.

With my interest piqued, I emailed the company to see if they have a PR firm. Then a day or two later I received an email from May herself! I took the opportunity to ask her a few questions about the line, including her “star” products. Although she said it’s hard to play favorites, Lindstrom told me gushed profusely about her Blue Cocoon. “This is essentially the most beautiful facial oil you’ve ever experienced in a unique waterless and waxless balm form.” I’m intrigued. “It’s total unicorn magic.” Now I can’t stop thinking about it…

She continued… “In the jar, it is a solid. Once it touches skin, it turns immediately to a lovely fluid. This can be used both as a daily hydrator and as a special treatment for skin that is sensitive, inflamed, damaged, acneic or irritated. It can be used as a spot treatment or for the full face, neck and decollete. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory and soothes skin in the most beautiful way, providing the perfect level of hydration and healing, eliminating any redness and irritation. It works wonderfully for all skin types, and is especially effective for those prone to eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and rosacea.”

Wait… There’s more. “It contains blue tansy, which calms and relieves inflammation on a magical level. It’s like a meditation and spa vacation for your skin—in aromatherapy, blue tansy is used to reduce anxiety, heal sleep disorders and soften the feeling of being out of control. Total bonus… This doubles as my favorite eye and lip treatment of all time.”

Are you sold yet? I am, and I’m not sure I can go another day without it…
