We’re just as concerned about aging (if not more) as the next person, but luckily one sign of time that has yet to rear its head is gray hair—except for one stubborn eyelash (really). But that didn’t stop us from accepting an invitation to check out L’Oreal Professionnel’s new hair color innovation, Inoa Supreme, at the Ted Gibson Salon at the W Ft. Lauderdale (which is an absolute gem!).
Before…
Upon meeting Jason Backe, co-owner of Ted Gibson and master colorist extraordinaire, we got the lowdown on Inoa Supreme, and let’s just say the prospect of going gray just got a lot less anxiety-inducing. This pro-only product is a first in the color world, because instead of depositing flat, matte, one-toned color to cover grays, it actually leaves a different tone on each strand for a multidimensional effect. (And we saw it in action, trust us.) And because it’s so reflective, it has a complexion-brightening effect, and we can all use some of that regardless of age (or hair color). Inoa Supreme is also ammonia-free, so there’s no horrendous scent, and no tingling or itching as it’s sitting on your hair. But beyond all this, it can cover 100% gray hair while leaving a softer, more natural look than other professional hair color.
Once we got our Inoa Supreme education, it was clear that we weren’t a candidate—but that didn’t stop Jason from having his way with us using the original ammonia-free Inoa. First on the agenda was our base color, which came out as a gorgeous, shimmery, beigey, almost rose gold. (We got an insane hand treatment complete with hot towels and a massage with Ted Gibson products while we waited for the color to develop.)
Base color…
Then, it was time for highlights, which involved foils with lightener plus “painting” with demi-permanent color in between.
Having fun with Jason…
From there, we got a gloss and an amazing blowout—and then we were ready to hit the town (although our evening actually consisted of dinner, bathtime and bedtime stories with our son).
After…
We’re absolutely thrilled with our new color, and it definitely suits our complexion better than our “before.” After our experience, we’re pretty confident that Inoa is the way to go no matter your hair color, so click here to find a salon near you!
