It’s become obvious that I literally cannot get enough of Charlotte Tilbury and at the rate I’m going, she’s going to completely take over my makeup drawer. I needed a little hit to hold me over before her Matte Revolution lipsticks launch here in the states, so I figured I’d give The Luxury Palette in “The Sophisticate” a try.
The main reason I chose this one is because all of the four shadows are matte. As gorgeous as my three other Charlotte Tilbury palettes are, some occasions call for a lack of shimmer. This palette (as with the others) allows you to go simple by using one or two shades, or follow Charlotte’s prime/enhance/smoke/pop technique.
You get a lovely vanilla shade that works as a base for just about any look, a slightly darker bone shade that also makes a great base or a natural contour for the crease. When you want to add a bit more color, there’s also a plummy gray and a brown, which work equally well individually or together.
All in all, if you need to stock your makeup bag with matte neutrals that go from day to night, this is it. I think my next experiment will be mixing and matching shades from the different palettes to get the best of both matte and shimmery worlds!
