When the Foreo Luna launched a little bit over a year ago, I was instantly intrigued by the bristle-less facial cleansing brush. (OK, it does actually have bristles, but they’re made of silicone and permanently attached to the device.) Roughly the size of your palm, this cleansing brush has different speeds and modes, and comes in versions for normal/sensitive, combination and ultra-sensitive skin.
I called a Luna in for review purposes shortly around this time, but after using it for a few days I went back to my Clarisonic. But when my Clarisonic had to be sent in for service a few weeks ago, I busted out the Luna once again—and I’m not sure I’ll go back to the Clarisonic when it eventually returns.
Why, you ask? First, the Luna gives you about 450 uses on one charge. For me, that’s over a year—and I’m grateful for one less piece of clutter on my bathroom countertop. Two: It’s totally waterproof so I can use it in the shower. (The Clarisonic is too, in its defense.) Three: No replacement brushes. The silicone “bristles” are 35 times more hygienic than regular brush bristles. Because sometimes I wonder what’s living inside my Clarisonic, and I admit I don’t replace my brush head as often as I’m supposed to. Four: The Luna also has an anti-aging mode. If you have a little extra time, flip over the device and let the lower-frequency pulses boost product penetration and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Foreo also makes a toothbrush based on the Luna concept, which I kind of want to try… Has anyone used it?
