Everything looks better with a tan, right? When my bestie and I were backpacking (and eating our way) across Europe in 1998, our trip motto was basically, “Brown fat is better than white fat”—and we were probably on a beach with a sandwich in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other when we said it. These days I’m all about getting my glow on the healthy way (i.e. via a bottle), and the mantra still holds true—but Skinny Tan is taking it to a whole new level.
One of the more exciting beauty launches of summer 2016 (so far), this self-tanning range serves up sun-kissed skin plus improved cellulite appearance thanks to smoothing guarana, a caffeine-rich ingredient that’s found in many anti-cellulite products. Combining the effects of guarana with bronze color that helps minimize imperfections on its own, Skinny Tan can help you look like you put in a few extra appearances at the gym, even when you didn’t.
The line includes the 7 Day Tanner (available
in Natural and Dark), a Gradual
Tanner, Tanning
Mousse, Tan &
Tone Oil and a few kits that include a pre-tan primer and exfoliator or
post-tan glow enhancer. There’s also the Ab Shader, which I find
very intriguing (though I would never attempt it).
I’ve used for the 7 Day Tanner and the Gradual Tanner and gotten great results. The 7 Day Tanner is tinted so you can see where you apply it, and you get major color payoff after one use. The Gradual Tan is great for maintenance (or starting slow), and both smell tropical (not self-tannery). As for the cellulite part, I will say that the backs of my thighs look smoother. I’ve lost a few pounds recently but that usually makes the lumps and bumps look worse, and I haven’t been hesitating to reach for the shorts.
It’s a fact that more than 90% of women have cellulite (thanks, estrogen!) but now that Skinny Tan is here, perhaps that statistic will change…
