Clinique isn’t exactly the most avant garde brand on the block, but you have to give them credit for innovation. The line behind the once-groundbreaking 3-step skincare routine (and many beauty breakthroughs since then) has a well-established range of cosmetics that have become go-tos for those with sensitive skin—but their makeup for fall takes a short walk on the wild side, at least as far as your eyes are concerned.
If you haven’t tried the Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara, I’m here to tell you this formula is amazing. The unique brush deposits color on each and every last (and sticks around all day), but the big news this season is the new colors. Now available in Two Ton Teal and everyone’s beloved Black Honey (which is currently exclusively to Sephora), you’d be surprised as the subtle difference these hues make in your overall look. I’m a big fan of the latter—but it takes a little getting used to the color you see upon removal.
Keeping true to the body-commentary theme, the new shades of Clinique’s Skinny Sticks include pops of color as well. “Olive-tini,” “Lanky Lapis,” “Thin Mint” (shown here) and “Demi-Grape” are the real standouts, and because these liners are super-super thin, you can use as much or as little color as you’d like. These long-wear liners are so great because they let you get right into the lashline—and they never need to be sharpened.
On a more traditional note, Clinique has also introduced the Beyond Perfecting Powder Foundation + Concealer. Offering medium to full coverage and a matte finish in convenient compact form, this oil-free foundation and concealer in one lets you target problem spots or use all over to create the illusion of a flawless complexion. Sweat- and humidity resistant, the unique applicator sponge features a sponge side of moderate coverage, a velvety side that allows you to build your coverage, and a pointed tip for precise application and tight spots.
