We all need a pick-me-up every now and then, and last week I got mine thanks to a few key purchases at my local Nordstrom’s NARS counter. I was there to check out the Fall Beauty Trend Week event (if you missed it, I’ll be sure to tell you when the next one is taking place) and after a glorious Elemis facial I was treated to makeover. My artist was none other than Jillian Chayet, who I’ve had the pleasure of sitting for before (at an event I hosted for my friends with another brand) so I knew I was in good hands.
After perusing the latest offerings and telling Jillian what I was into (and what I wasn’t), she worked in the beautiful bronze Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in “Telesto,” which I have been DYING to try. It’s gorgeous, and although I haven’t tried it wet just yet, I absolutely love how this works solo for day, and plays nicely with other shades and black eyeliner for night.
Once my lids were covered (literally) it was time to tackle my under-eye situation. I explained to Jillian that my dark circles have become more of a challenge, and she assured me the Creamy Radiant Concealer was the answer to my woes—and she was right. The highly pigmented hydrating formula certainly brightens things up, and it doesn’t settle into any little nooks and crannies.
Since a new lip look was in order, I went with the “Damage” Sheer Lipstick, which is billed as a muted grape. I also picked up the “Marnie” Lipliner Pencil to give the color a little more oomph when necessary.
This was all more than enough to put the spring back in my step, but there’s one product I didn’t purchase—although I totally will. The new-ish Audacious Mascara is to die for, and its unique brush sets it apart from the rest. Featuring little hooks that grab each lash as you apply, it delivers serious length and volume without flaking or smudging. As soon as I finish my Charlotte Tilbury, I’ll be filling the void with this!
