I never really got into the facial mist thing, and even though I don’t use it that regularly, I ALWAYS have two somewhere in my house. The first is Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist, simply because I love the scent of roses and it comes in handy when my skin (and mood) needs a little pick-me-up. The second is Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir, because I’ve been hooked since the first time I tried it over 10 years ago.
I’ve had this mist is my office bathroom forever because it’s great for combatting that mid-afternoon slump—and for procrastinating when I’ll use anything I can get my hands on to avoid doing actual work. But now this spectacular antioxidant-packed spray is fully back in the daily rotation thanks to meeting one of Caudalie’s reps at the Sephora store in Aventura a few weeks ago. Not only did we pass the time talking about our mutual love for Caudalie, I owe her big time for her pointers that are sure to help Bronze Buffer sell at Sephora. But I digress… In addition to the insider info, Melissa also sent me home with a bottle of Beauty Elixir, which renewed my romance with this divine product.
The Beauty Elixir is amazing because you feel an invigorating tingle the second you spray it on, so it acts like a literal wake-up call for your skin. The blend of grape, orange blossom, rose, mint and rosemary also manages to temporarily make fine lines and pores less visible—probably because the radiant glow it instantly imparts distracts your eyes from any flaws. The scent has an energizing effect as well, and this might sound crazy, but just a few sprays on my face puts the spring back in my step. This mist is also wonderful for reviving makeup for those times when you’re going from the office to happy hour (or just don’t want to start all over from scratch), and it also sets makeup to help it look lovely throughout the day. Thanks to the travel-size bottle Melissa gave me, I keep it on me at all times (and it’s a great way to cool down from the Florida heat). Now whenever anyone asks me what I use on my skin, I can show them my secret weapon.
