I jumped on the cleansing oil bandwagon about a year ago, and it actually took me this long to finish my ginormous bottle of Shu Uemura. (You might think $81 is a lot to spend on a cleanser, but not having to think about buying more for 52 or so weeks makes it totally worthwhile.) So when it was time to replenish my stock, I shopped around, read reviews and ultimately purchased NUDE Skincare’s Perfect Cleanse Nourishing Cleansing Oil.
At $36 for a significantly smaller bottle, it may not have the same bang for the buck, but it makes up for it in other ways. First, I love the faint almond-y scent, and it’s a bit thicker than the Shu Uemura. It is made with a blend of omega-rich meadowfoam and jojoba oils, which are great for strengthening the skin’s barrier, which in turn improves hydration and resistance to irritation. You apply it to dry skin with dry hands and rub it in before adding a bit of water to transform the oil to a milky texture. The directions say to use two to three pumps, but my skin drinks this cleanser up and I like a bit more “slip,” so I use closer to four.
At this rate I’ll be needing another bottle rather soon, so what are your favorite cleansing oils?
