You don’t have to be prego to use these pregnancy products

Back when I was pregnant 8 years ago, I was emphatically anti-chemical when it came to everything. I was eating totally organic and my skincare regimen was as clean and “green” as could be. I also suffered from some major hormonal breakouts, and opted for Burt’s Bees acne treatments over the benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid I used on my non-pregnant skin. My vigilance definitely eased up once my son arrived, but I found myself going the chemical-free route again when my skin freaked out a few weeks ago thanks to a delivery from Belli Skincare.

I use a salicylic acid cleanser every single morning to keep blemishes at bay, and Belli’s Anti-Blemish Facial Wash has been an amazing toxin-free alternative. It’s formulated with lactic acid for baby-safe exfoliation plus lemon peel oil, which acts as a natural anti-bacterial and skin-brightening ingredients. There’s also green tea and cucumber for some extra antioxidants, and you can also leave it on your skin for 5 minutes to give yourself a mini-peel.

The Acne Spot Treatment has worked great on those stubborn spots (like the eruption I’m in the process of preventing on my upper lip). Featuring colloidal sulfur instead of benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or glycolic acid, just a few applications clear up pimples fast.

Once I placed these on the counter next to my sink, I waited for my husband to say something like, “Is there something you need to tell me?” but alas he didn’t catch on. No, I’m not going for baby #2, but I am going for clear skin without any questionable ingredients.

Would you use pregnancy products even if you’re not?
