Few beauty brands make the successful transition from skincare to haircare, but when a company with a solid history of great anti-aging products launches a range designed to nourish damaged and/or thinning hair while soothing the scalp, I definitely take notice.
StriVectin burst onto the beauty scene roughly 12 or so years ago with their Intensive Concentrate for Wrinkles and Stretch Marks (and its controversial “Better Than Botox” tagline) and women have been slathering this stuff on their faces and bodies ever since. The brand has developed products designed to tackle just about every aging concern since, and now they’re set their sights on hair.
Available exclusively at Sephora (for now), the Ultimate Restore Shampoo and Conditioner strive to repair signs of hair damage and reduce breakage. The formula features StriVectin’s signature NIA-144 (a derivative of niacin that works wonders on aging skin) along with Kerapeptide Strengthening Complex, which coats each strand with keratin for strengthening and protection from the elements. Safe for colored and chemically treated hair, the sulfate-free shampoo gently yet effectively cleanses without stripping the scalp of its natural oils, and the conditioner instantly smooths and softens strands.
While I haven’t tried this just yet, I would definitely give it a whirl to see if it makes a difference in my over-stressed platinum hair… What about you?
