Now you can channel your favorite SATC character when you shave...

About a year ago, I decided to remove myself from the shaving/razor industrial complex by signing up for monthly deliveries from Harry’s. I felt very empowered by this decision (the extra cash didn’t hurt either) and now I swap out my cartridge when necessary rather than trying to eek out a few more shaves. I’m not usually one to second guess myself, but when Refinery 29 wrote about Oui Shave last week, I started to rethink my epilation ways.

Shave oils and lotions are nothing new, but this line is playing into our undying love for Sex and the City with “Carrie,” “Charlotte” and “Samantha” razor sets (apparently Miranda got the shaft—for now). As unique as the characters themselves, these kits come with a razor and a Neroli Shave Oil, and each is designed to meet different aesthetic tastes and hair removal needs.

The “Carrie” set’s razor is a glamorous gold, and the short handle is apparently ideal for women under 5’6” with thicker hair and sensitive skin. This $85 razor uses an old-fashioned double-edge blade, and since these are less expensive than drugstore cartridges you can actually save money in the long run.

The “Charlotte” is recommended for women of any height with fine or slow-growing hair. With a longer, sleeker handle, it uses a cartridge-esque double blade and feels a bit more like the razor you’re used to.

Lastly, the “Samantha” features a slim standard-length chrome handle, and uses double-blade cartridges as well. This model is recommended for normal to sensitive skin with thicker, coarser hair—but regardless of the one you choose, your post-shave skin will always be smooth, soft and like Samantha, always ready for a little hanky panky.

I’m on the fence about whether or not it pays to go back to my old shaving ways, but the idea of a display-worthy razor is intriguing… What do you think?
