Watch out, Clarisonic… Clinique’s new Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush is coming for you! Truth be told, I’m surprised it took this long for the beauty behemoth to launch their own device, but then again, this state-of-the-art skincare brush has been four years in the making. And let’s just say it significantly differs from the competition.
First, this waterproof handheld cleansing companion features 35,000 tufted bristles, and each contains a silver thread to lend an anti-microbial effect that goes a long way for fighting acne (and keeping bacteria buildup to a minimum). While it utilizes sonic movement like the Clarisonic, this brush has a wave-like motion (as opposed to oscillation), which is supposed to be gentler on the skin. It’s also oval-shaped, and the green is designed for hard-to-reach spots, while the white bristles are softer for more sensitive areas. It also shuts off automatically so you have one less thing to think about.
Now for perhaps the best part: This system retails for $89.50 (replacement heads cost $26, and they are meant to be swapped out every three months). The brush is designed to work with Clinique’s 3 Step Skin Care System (natch), but it’s a great addition to any skincare regimen, no matter which brand you use.
