I consider myself somewhat of an exfoliation expert… Name the method or even the product, and odds are I’ve tried it. At-home scrubs are a mainstay, not only in my weekly DIY facials, but even on days between—and I have them stashed in the shower as well as next to my sink. (Rule of thumb: I do the more messy ones in the shower twice a week when I was my hair.) Now it’s not often that a scrub completely blows my mind, but just this happened last week when I tried Rodan + Fields’ Micro-Dermabrasion Paste.
This style of scrub has long been a favorite, and there will always be a special place in my heart for Dr. Brandt’s original Microdermabrasion in a Jar and Goldfaden MD’s Doctor’s Scrub. Whereas these have a super-fine grit, the R+F is more on the chunky side, kind of like a salt scrub you’d use on your body. Let it be known this exfoliator doesn’t mess around, but you can dial down the abrasion by adding water.
All I can say is that I didn’t even recognize the feel of my skin after I washed it off. It was that good. Now I’m really sad that I only had a sample, and I might have to bite the bullet and actually buy a jar.
P.S. I got this sample at a launch party for my friend’s blog, Whine & Cheez(Its). If you’re a mom and have even the slightest sense of humor, you MUST check it out. And since I’m all about supporting my girls (my friends, not my boobs—but I do my best for them, too) if you’re going to purchase this amazing product, please use the link above!
